Cape of Good Hope

The Cape of Good Hope is the deep-water route around the southern tip of Africa. It has no canal tolls and no width limits, which makes it the default fallback when the Suez–Bab el-Mandeb corridor is disrupted — at the cost of thousands of extra nautical miles and days of transit.
